The Kimberly Weeks Freedom Academy

who we are

Nearly half of all women and men in the United States have experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner in their lifetime (48.4% and 48.8%, respectively) according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline.

Nearly 3 in 10 women (29%) and 1 in 10 men (10%) in the US have experienced rape, physical violence and/or stalking by a partner and report a related impact on their functioning.  In 2019, 243 million women and girls (aged 15-49) across the world have been subjected to sexual or physical violence by an intimate partner.

Domestic Violence is one of the greatest human rights violations across the globe and includes physical, verbal, psychological, sexual, financial and spiritual abuse.  Many victims and survivors suffer in silence without a place to safely reveal what happened to them and get the help they need to recover.

The Kimberly Weeks Freedom Academy (KWFA) is a trauma recovery academy and support community of determined, committed-to-healing  survivors of relational trauma and domestic violence. We are committed to providing a digital healing space for survivors to safely unpack their trauma and gain wisdom to walk free from the patterns of their past.

Through weekly teaching and coaching, members will be equipped with the language and understanding of what happened in their abuse, whether past or present, where the pattern began in their childhood and how to break the cycle of self-abandonment for acceptance and approval.

OUR MISSION

what we offer

Trauma-Informed Coaching

Led by an Advanced Certified coach trained by the International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching (IAOTRC), KWFA members will be equipped with psycho-education training about the neurobiological impact of trauma. This includes the effect of trauma on every part of the body, soul and spirit.

A Community of Healing Survivors

The culture of KWFA is a healing space for supportive connections.  We believe that the best way to heal is in the presence of other survivors who've walked the same path & understand the nuances of trauma.  We seek to provide room for survivors to learn safety in community once more.

what people are saying

"Kimberly comes with profound personal and professional knowledge about how trauma negatively impacts the physical mind and the spiritual core of a person. She brings her own experience of having walked through her own freedom journey, and now she is equipped and anointed to bring freedom to others.  I cannot think of a more timely and

important ministry as the Freedom Academy for so many."

"Deeply compassionate, understanding and insightful are my first thoughts to describe the help and care I've received from Kim.  She is one of the people who has pulled me off the ledge of hopelessness and despair. God has guided my process and I have been so blessed to have found Kim to listen well and coach me through intense difficulty. I can be completely vulnerable with Kim and know that she is a safe space for me to voice my troubles. Kim is receptive to the process of healing and gives room for the time and pace I need as I recover from deep, painful wounds. Her strong grasp of human behavior and patterns allows her to bring understanding to complex issues."

Tavia Gary, Trauma Survivor

“As a community of faith, we are excited to see the Kimberly Weeks Freedom Academy come into fruition. The numbers of abuse & trauma related victims are clearly on the rise and having access to an authentic resource of support and healing is invaluable. The opportunity to offer value adding training to our staff and volunteers will allow us to be further equipped for effective ministry within our church and community at large.”
